The General Ledger Manager will oversee the companys accounting operations related to the general ledger with a key focus on multi-entity accounting and intercompany reconciliations. This role ensures compliance with US GAAP maintains strong internal controls and manages the monthly close process. The GL Manager will supervise accounting staff support external audits and work directly with the CFO to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage monthly quarterly and annual close processes across multiple entities to ensure accuracy completeness and timeliness
Oversee preparation and review of journal entries accruals allocations and account reconciliations
Maintain integrity of the general ledger including intercompany accounts and reconciliations
Supervise mentor and develop accounting team members including workload assignments
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies while strengthening internal controls
Coordinate with external auditors for annual reviews including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation
Assist in preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and management reports
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the close and reporting cycle
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
5 years of progressive accounting experience including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Strong knowledge of US GAAP intercompany accounting and internal control frameworks
Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g. SAP Epicor NetSuite Microsoft Dynamics or similar)
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and reconcile large data sets
Excellent problem-solving analytical and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across entities and departments
