Job Summary
- The primary role of the Staff Nurse is to provide pre- peri- and post-procedure nursing care and ensure effective management of patient care within the Unit.
- Responsible for the management treatment and support of elective patients ensuring the highest standards of clinical care.
- Develop and document individualised care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based best practices.
- Deliver safe accurate and comprehensive nursing care with minimal supervision and in a timely manner.
- Participate actively in quality assurance infection prevention and control initiatives to maintain patient safety and service excellence.
- Promote the safety health welfare and social wellbeing of patients while respecting their dignity privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure patient records are maintained protected and managed in line with hospital policy and legal requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments to ensure seamless and efficient service delivery.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all members of the healthcare team to support coordinated patient care.
- Work within the scope of the NMBI and adhere to hospital policies procedures and standards while demonstrating flexibility to assist in other hospital areas as required.
Requirements
- Registered in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Demonstrates evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
- Minimum of two years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting as a Staff Nurse.

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills Proficiency in medication administration and patient monitoring Excellent knowledge of infection prevention and control practices Ability to develop implement and evaluate individualised care plans Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients families and multidisciplinary teams Competence in documentation and use of hospital information systems Strong organisational and time management abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Commitment to patient safety dignity and high-quality care Flexibility to adapt to changing clinical situations and support other departments when required
Required Education:
Registered in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Demonstrates evidence of ongoing personal and professional development. Nursing Degree
