EduTalent Group are supporting a school in East Sussex in the search for a professional and welcoming School Reception & Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for parents visitors and staff ensuring a warm professional and efficient service while supporting the smooth running of the school office.
Reporting directly to the Student Welfare and Administration Manager you will contribute to the schools vision and ethos supporting staff pupils and the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Reception:
Provide a professional and friendly welcome to all visitors parents and staff.
Manage telephone and face-to-face enquiries efficiently.
Maintain security and safeguarding procedures including signing-in and issuing visitor badges.
Handle incoming and outgoing post parcels and deliveries.
Provide hospitality and general information support as required.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
Administrative:
Update manual and electronic records including school MIS systems.
Support communications via newsletters website social media and noticeboards.
Assist with diary management meeting minutes and school event organisation.
Perform general administrative tasks such as photocopying filing emailing and routine forms.
Support pupil welfare including first aid administration and contacting parents when necessary.
Provide basic technical support to staff.
Assist SLT with administrative and finance-related tasks maintaining confidentiality.
Finance:
Input data into the school finance system create purchase orders and produce reports under guidance.
Support budget tracking and finance reporting as required.
Essential:
Previous experience in an office environment dealing with face-to-face interactions.
Good working knowledge of ICT including Word Excel and presentation software.
Understanding of safeguarding health and safety and data protection principles.
Ability to communicate effectively work flexibly and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Positive professional approach with resourcefulness patience and resilience.
Desirable:
Experience working in a school office or education setting.
Knowledge of school MIS systems (e.g. Scholarpack).
Experience with financial management systems.
Familiarity with social media and website management.
Level 1 Safeguarding and First Aid training.
Ability to support the schools Christian ethos and values.
