This Position reports to:
Global Engineering ManagerYour role and responsibilities
In this role you will have the opportunity to manage a team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality cost effective and timely engineering solutions to customers. Each day you will formulate plans and allocate resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. You will also showcase your expertise by initiating coordinating driving and overseeing team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability.

This role is contributing to the EL Smart Power in Mebane NC.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Technical contribution - Leads engineering teams which are responsible for several products or sector areas and ensure delivery of a portfolio of projects on time in full. Provides direction to the teams with a focus on safety on time delivery quality and margin improvement.
Customer and sales - Builds and maintains customer relationships seeks feedback and provides innovative solutions to meet customer requirements and deliver improvements. Provides engineering support during the bid phase supports presentation of proposals to customers. Works with business development to target new opportunities. Presents new technology and innovation at conferences client events.
Contract management - Oversees contractual work within ones area of responsibility. Conducts regular progress reviews identifies and manages contractual risks.
Planning and control - Ensures that engineering teams are adequately resourced developed and equipped to meet business needs. Oversees planning and control process in the engineering teams Conducts regular reviews to ensure that the teams are delivering work according to the customer and ABB requirements.
Risk and opportunity management - Creates and implements plans to ensure that business risks are identified and managed opportunities maximized Ensures that required systems are understood developed and correctly implemented.
Supply chain management - Collaborates with the Supply Chain function to ensure that correct suppliers services and equipment are available to support the engineering execution.
Technical leadership and development - Facilitates best practice sharing within the engineering team.
Processes and tools - Initiates and drives continuous improvement activities. Develops implements and improves relevant processes policies and procedures to improve effectiveness across the engineering function.
Qualifications for the role
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field.
7 years of Management experience with increasing responsibility and scope
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and knowledge in power systems and protection-related matters.
Must be familiar and have practical experience with CREO SolidWorks Windchill MS Word MS Excel MS Project PowerPoint SAP and other applicable software.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Must be self-motivated with a high level of creativity.
Complex problem-solving skills required.
Strong conflict resolution skills required.
Experience in dealing with the cultural diversity of a global business environment.
