The Team:
The Strategy and Architecture team part of Landsec Data and Technology department is responsible for ensuring that Landsecs technology architecture is robust business-aligned and future-ready supporting transformation and value delivery across the organisation. Our activities include:
Defining and maintaining architecture standards across all technology domains
Reviewing and assuring solution designs for alignment and integrity
Managing architecture deliverables for business initiatives
Guiding technology decisions and resolving architectural risks
Leading architecture governance forums
Acting as trusted advisors to the business
The role:
The purpose of this role is to lead the design of solutions governing the development and setting out the strategic direction for Landsec. Acting as a consultant within multiple business domain (Lifestyle Workplace Residential or Group) for a broad range of technologies platforms and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes.
The role is a key function within the Strategy & Architecture team whose purpose is to:
Ensure that Landsec Tech do the right things by delivering technology solutions that deliver the desired business strategy and outcomes.
Support the design & delivery of technology projects by providing architectural governance to ensure that Landsec Tech do the right things right.
The role is responsible for delivering secure solutions at speed into the business following our corporate standards such as secure by design cloud first and AI order to accelerate time to market the role will utilise an agile methodology and both minimum viable product and iterative principles.
The individual must be both technically proficient and solution focussed motivated by finding coherent and strategic approaches to complex business challenges or new opportunities in line with Landsecs digital ambitions. Desirable skills include architecture governance and stakeholder management.
Principle Accountabilities:
Leads the development and maintenance of a technology strategy and an outcome driven commercially focused technology roadmap for their domain. Ensuring alignment of strategic needs with technology delivery across the entire organisation.
Leads the identification evaluation design and analysis of new solutions suppliers and delivery methods to extend and refine Landsecs digital eco-system.
Responsible for ensuring that the respective business application data security and technology architectures are in line with Landsecs technology and governance strategies policies and standards.
Ensures that projects are aligned to the technology strategy throughout the delivery process and do not duplicate functionality or diverge from the agreed strategy.
Manges the upkeep of the architecture repository principles methods and standards.
Ensures that the appropriate solution design and technical documentation are completed and kept up to date. Adhere to change processes and produce high quality technical documentation.
Identify and recommend technology innovation experiments helping to create new products and services and assists in integrating the best of these into steady-state operations for the organisation.
Review the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies legacy and technical debt and recommends solutions for improvement.
Identifies the organisational impact (for example on skills processes structures or culture) and financial impact of the solutions architecture.
Essential Criteria
Bachelors degree in computer science business engineering or a related discipline with an information technology focus; or equivalent related experience.
Senior level Solution architecture experience or lead level experience in disciplines such as application design and development (web and mobile) enterprise application integration business analysis cloud solution architecture or infrastructure operations in a multi-technology/multi-partner environment.
Proven experience in Digital Platforms Enterprise Application Integration Architecture Governance DevSecOps Infrastructure as Code Application Portfolio Management
Be able to effectively lead remote teams in a multicultural environment
Knowledge of software development methodologies and design techniques e.g. UML Agile etc.
Understanding of infrastructure and network architecture.
Proficient on both Windows and Linux operating systems.
Have the ability to prototype and demonstrate using recognised tools and technologies e.g. JavaScript(Angular/React/) .Net Powershell SharePoint Azure Power BI Power Platform and Umbraco CMS.
Knowledge of business ecosystems software as a service (SaaS) infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platform as a service (PaaS) SOA APIs (REST/SOAP) Open Data artificial intelligence (AI) internet of things (IoT) and data analytics.
Experience in building Minimal Viable Products (MVP) and being able to demonstrate back to stakeholders.
Able to facilitate the discovery of security vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications and maintain an appropriate security posture.
Certification as Azure Solutions Architect Expert with proven experience designing solutions on Azure and leading the delivery.
Desirable:
Line management experience of teams and matrix management in delivering of technology solutions
Experience of working in the Real Estate or investment management sectors
Certification in and knowledge of architecture and information management practices and EA frameworks e.g. TOGAF.
