The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. While we strive to provide competitive and transparent compensation there may be circumstances where an offer is above or outside of the listed range. We are open to discussing salary expectations with qualified candidates considering factors such as the candidates qualifications skills competencies experience and geographic location will all be considered during the hiring process.

Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is seeking an experienced and motivated IT Supervisor to lead a team of talented technology professionals supporting the systems applications databases and infrastructure that power our this role youll provide hands-on leadership manage priorities and ensure the success of key projects and initiatives that support both SPP staff and our member companies.

Youll play a critical role in coordinating resources driving technical solutions and fostering collaboration across teamsall while maintaining SPPs standards of operational excellence reliability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership management and direction to a team of IT professionals fostering collaboration accountability and professional growth.

  • Plan prioritize and assign work to ensure project and support objectives are met on schedule.

  • Oversee the operation maintenance and optimization of systems tools and infrastructure to meet business requirements.

  • Partner with Project Management and other departments to coordinate resources for key initiatives.

  • Evaluate and manage individual performance through ongoing coaching development planning and annual reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with SPP and NERC standards and maintain thorough project documentation.

  • Promote teamwork and effective communication across IT and other business areas.

  • Participate in budget development and forecasting processes.

  • Support or represent SPP on technical committees and working groups both internally and externally.

To be successful as the IT Supervisor were looking for:

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in an Information Technology-related field or equivalent job-related experience

Experience Requirements:

  • Eight (8) years of experience in Information Technology Engineering Project Management or a related field

Required:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Expert customer service and organizational skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of software and project life cycle methods and practices
  • Flexibility and the ability to effectively manage constantly changing and multiple priorities
  • Competent knowledge of operating systems system/application development and support and database management systems as applicable
  • Competent knowledge of technical infrastructure and networking concepts and practices as applicable
  • Expert troubleshooting problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Understanding of compliance with and enforcement of SPP Policies and Procedures

Preferred:

  • Five (5) years utility industry experience
  • Five (5) years of team leadership experience
  • A variety of experience in Information Technology projects

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to make decisions interpret data and problem solve.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand or sit for extended periods; use hands to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment.

  • Requires the ability to work and collaborate with managers and employees at all levels to exchange ideas information and opinions to facilitate the task.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Understanding of compliance with and enforcement of SPP Policies and Procedures

    Position Type Location and Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time onsite hybrid position based in Little Rock Arkansas. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with extended hours may be required.

    Travel Requirement:

    This position requires minimal travel (approximately 10%).
