The Ohio Arts Council is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to assume the duties of Financial Associate (working title: Fiscal & Investment Associate) to work alongside the agencys Investment and Fiscal Offices.
Completion of associate core program in business administration accounting finance or related field.
The Ohio Arts Council (OAC) is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally educationally and economically. With funds from the Ohio General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts the OAC provides financial assistance to artists and arts organizations.
Some evenings and/or weekends are required. The employee may travel overnight from time-to-time. The worker may be required to work longer than usual hours during peak operational periods.
As of the time of posting this bargaining unit position starts at a base pay rate of $47757 annualized ($22.96/hour) within pay range 28.

The OACs Fiscal and Investment Office teams form the core of the agencys primary work as a grant maker. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of budgeting bookkeeping and accounting. They should be familiar with general office management agency procedures and state guidelines for financial and purchasing activities. Experience using State of Ohio financial and administrative systems such as OAKS and ARTIE (OAC grants management system) along with Microsoft Office and Excel is important. Knowledge of government processes workforce planning and human resources practices is also helpful.
Candidates should have strong computer and clerical skills including typing word processing and working with spreadsheets and databases. Attention to detail accuracy with numbers and clear written and verbal communication are essential. The position requires good problem-solving and interpersonal skills the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and comfort performing light physical tasks such as typing.
