Summary
The Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineer manages the process of specifying designing configuring testing supervising and manufacturing control electrical and automation this role you will serve as a technical reference for designers and engineering technicians responsible for automation instrumentation and control system integration/development. Additionally you will provide remote assistance for on-site installation and support of PLC/HMI/computer-based hardware offer schedule and cost updates to project managers on multi-discipline projects and maintain effective communication with clients and co-workers.
Essential Functions
- Designs control systems and instrumentation equipment including electrical control panels.
- Conducting analytical assessments and troubleshooting.
- Initiating and leading projects independently.
- Assists with installation and commissioning tasks (experience preferred but not required).
- Modifying and upgrading existing systems.
- Analyze the processes of the assigned facility
- Identify shortcomings that could be opened by automation
- Design systems that can automate processes
- Maintain and repair systems
- Inspect systems to ensure they meet safety regulations
- Familiarity with PLC/SCADA software across multiple platforms.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree or higher in Electronic & Electrical/Controls/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Electrical equipment in explosive environments: 5 years (Required)
- Electrical Engineering: 5 years (Required)
- Instrumentation: 5 years (Required)
- PLC HMI and related hardware: 5 years (Required)
- Controls Automation: 5 years (Required)
- Electrical Panel Equipment Design: 2 years (Required)
