Job Summary

GENERAL Responsibilities

The senior staff accountant position is responsible for both operational and programmatic support to the organization and is accountable for the day-to-day accounting functions of the network office and district network offices. This role works collaboratively with other members of the network office team and reports to the Director of Finance & Accounting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage accounts payable to properly plan cash flow so that expenses are paid in a timely fashion.
  • Reconcile Credit Card accounts and track expense approvals including categorizing the expenses and maintaining alignment with chart of accounts.
  • Maintain accurate files and source documents.
  • Monitor track and communicate all active financial representative debt on a timely basis.
  • Preparing Financial Representative offboarding paperwork and other finance tasks.
  • Review and submit special commission requests to the external accounting team.
  • Reconciliation and manage district offices bank accounts.
  • Understand and train new financial representatives on compensation.
  • Assist with preparation of annual 1099 statements for contracted financial representatives.
  • Manage quarterly tax statements to the IRS.
  • Manage internal goal tracking & reporting.
  • Understand and educate on management contracts and compensation.
  • Reconciliation of operations and accounts such as home office program reimbursements and district cost sharing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in accounting required.
  • Experience in accounting including general ledger maintenance; three or more years preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and technologically savvy.
  • Knowledge of standard accounting software including QuickBooks personal finance software preferred.
  • Strong presentation persuasion problem-solving oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong personal code of ethics including maintaining confidentiality.
  • High self-motivation strong organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to adapt and learn in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work well on a team and maintain a positive attitude.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Regular predictable attendance is required.
