Job Summary

Position Title:Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location:Fort Worth TX
Job Type:Contract Travel Assignment
Shift:Evening Shift (8 hours) Thursday Friday and Saturday 2:00 PM10:30 PM
Duration:13 weeks
Hourly Pay:$40.32 per hour
Weekly Pay:$1391 per week

Navitas Healthcare LLC is seekingMedical Laboratory Scientistfor an exciting Travel or Local job inFort Worth TX.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducts a wide range of clinical laboratory tests across multiple disciplines including hematology chemistry urinalysis coagulation and microbiology.
Verifies specimen identification ensures proper labeling and follows all pre-analytical analytical and post-analytical protocols.
Operates calibrates and maintains laboratory instruments and analyzers ensuring all quality control measures are met.
Reviews and validates test results for accuracy prior to reporting promptly communicating critical values to clinicians.
Adheres to all infection control safety and quality assurance procedures in accordance with hospital and regulatory policies.
Documents and maintains accurate records of laboratory activities reagent lot numbers maintenance logs and QC data.
Collaborates with nursing medical and ancillary departments to ensure timely turnaround of laboratory results.
Participates in proficiency testing continuing education and performance improvement activities.
Demonstrates strong analytical judgment attention to detail and commitment to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

Active ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT) required
Texas licensure or eligibility (if applicable)
BLS Certification (AHA required)
Minimum1 year of recent experience in an acute care hospital setting
Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science Medical Technology or related field
Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS) and automated analyzers
Excellent organizational technical and communication skills
