The opportunity
ING is looking for a Senior Audit Manager Data Management to join Corporate Audit Services (CAS) in a role that combines hands-on support & participation in data management audits across ING with coordination of the data management audit activities across CAS divisions and audit teams.
Some details:
- You are experienced in leading and executing audits as you lead your own data management audits on the global data management function and will join as participant in audits across ING to bring in your expertise. This with the objective to provide valuable insights to INGs first and second line colleagues involved in data management.
- You globally support CAS colleagues in audits with a data component using your sound and holistic knowledge and view on data management.
- You provide the CAS training about auditing Data Management to CAS colleagues.
Data management is a topic subject to regulations and increased attention from regulators.
Roles and responsibilities
- Lead as well as execute the CAS audits related to the global Data Management function(s).
- Participate in local Data Management audits in different locations.
- Maintain and enhance data management audit approach including the standard audit work program Data Management & Reporting.
- Coordinate that enough audit activities are performed on data management per year and provide the input for Data Management for the CAS Audit Strategy Presentation (ASP).
- Act as the (delegated) Global Subject Matter Expert for data management within CAS year and ensure sufficient depth of executed audit work on data management.
- Oversee what is happening in first and second line on data management and be a sparring partner on the topic of data management and regulations like BCBS239.
The team
Corporate Audit Services is INGs internal audit department and consists of around 410 team members globally. As Senior Audit Manager Data Management you will work closely together with an experienced auditor focused on Data Management. Both of you are located in Amsterdam in the CAS Technology & Operations/Business Support Functions & Data Management team.
You will work in a positive working atmosphere where people are used to an open communication style. Education and training are highly supported and innovation is stimulated

- You are experienced in leading and executing complex audits and are able to deliver on time and quality.
- You have well-developed knowledge of data management & reporting including relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- You have experience in the planning and organization of audits.
- You can comfortably reach out to/interact with management on varying levels within ING
- You are well capable to inspire and convince others to do the right thing even when you have to overcome resistance.
- You possess strong analytical skills.
- You are skilled in the usage of data analytics tools.
- You are naturally proactive critical and curious you know how to ask the right questions and get the right information.
- You have a can-do mentality and a strong work ethic with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while adapting to changing deadlines and priorities.
Furthermore you adhere to the ING values and you are also prepared to take the Bankers Oath
Skills required
- A bachelor or master degree.
- In possession of a valid industry audit certification.
- At least 10 years of experience in planning and execution of audits.
- Experience with working in international and complex organizations such as the financial services industry.
- Fluent in English and preferably a basic understanding of Dutch. Other languages are also appreciated.
- Willingto travel abroad 6-8 weeks per year depending on assignments
