The Scientist I will contribute to the design execution and analysis of experiments that support research & development of new membranes to meet customer application needs.
This role will support the development of new membrane designs enhance existing processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies.
This position reports to the Director R&D and is part of the Filtration R&D team located in Pensacola FL and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
- Design and execute experiments to support development of new membranes materials metrology and/or processes under the guidance of senior scientists.
- Support pilot and full-scale test runs by preparing formulations operating equipment and collecting/analyzing data.
- Collect analyze and interpret data using standard statistical and data analysis software.
- Clearly document and communicate results through reports or presentations to project team.
Who you are:
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry Polymer Science Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- 1 yr experience in a research or laboratory setting (academic internship or industrial).
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical results to audiences with diverse backgrounds.
- The desire and ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary fast-paced team environment with adaptability and openness to learning.
Travel Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
- < 25% travel is required for this role
- May occasionally work on overnight or weekend if needed
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
