The Specialist I Security - IR (Incident Response) plays a crucial role in protecting an organizations digital assets by quickly detecting and mitigating security incidents. Requires an acute understanding of security principles and incident response methodologies and will work diligently under pressure to safeguard data and operations. This role is essential for any organization that values proactive defense against evolving cyber threats. The position will provide secondary support for the Information Service Department.
Tasked with monitoring security alerts and logs analyzing incidents to understand their impact and coordinating responses to contain and remediate threats. They collaborate with multiple teams to ensure that vulnerabilities are identified and addressed promptly. Regular documentation post-incident analysis and continuous learning are key components of the role that help enhance overall security posture. This position will be expected to interact with other senior business leaders.
The Specialist I Security - IR is challenged with ensuring that state-of-the art security techniques are employed to maintain the highest level of security for all platforms and applications maintained by the company while at the same time not compromising system efficiency. The position must ensure a superior level of customer service is offered to all addition must resolve any security incident in a professional and timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Analyze security incidents and escalate them as necessary
- Develop and implement incident response strategies to mitigate threats
- Collaborate with IT teams to resolve security incidents in a timely manner
- Create and manage incident reports and maintain incident logs
- Conduct regular checks and audits to identify vulnerabilities or breaches
- Recommend security measures and tools to prevent future incidents
- Stay up to date on the latest information security trends and threat intelligence
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures
- Monitor access control logs and security violation logs
- Keep abreast of state of the art security techniques to advise systems designers and users on security techniques that best implement stated policy and standards.
- Assist in conducting investigations into any alleged computer or network security compromisesincidents or problems under the direction of senior resources and or management
- Provide support in updating standardizing and implementing system and application configurations to ensure the confidentiality integrity and availability of Company systems
- Develop reports upon request utilizing various report-writing tools in all applications
- Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change or where new ones need to be developed especially regarding future business expansion
- Monitor and report on any security violation related to unwarranted access to company data
- Ensure that all applications and system related problems are resolved in a timely and efficient manner
- Willingness to travel a must
- Maintain awareness of the rapidly changing Concentra environment and recommend cost efficient techniques when supporting corporate and field systems
- Support the mission and direction of Concentra Information Services both within the department and throughout the corporation.
- Help build team spirit by assisting other staff members and promoting a positive workplace
- Complete any activities tasks and/or projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Education Level: Bachelors Degree ; Major: Business Systems Computer Science Security Risk Analysis Cybersecurity Information Sciences and Technology
- Experience in lieu of required education is acceptable
- Two years of experience
- Experience with security administration and network monitoring tools
- PC Hardware and peripheral experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft productivity applications
- Knowledge of browser-based technology
- Understanding of operating systems such as Windows and OS X/iOS
- Strong understanding of HIPAA Data Privacy SOX and PCI Security Regulations a plus
- Understanding of applicable control frameworks including NIST RMF/CSF and Mitre Att&ck a plus
- Excellent report writing skills a plus
- Large-scale multi-site IS operations experience a plus
- Healthcare experience a plus
- Experience with managing personal and enterprise firewalls a plus
- Experience with Change Management processes a plus
- Experience with common technologies such as SIEM (ex. Splunk Elastic Sumo Logic) EDR (CrowdStrike Cortex XDR SentinelOne) DLP (ex. Digital Guardian Forcepoint MS Purview) and Email Security (ex. Proofpoint Cofense Rapid7) Cloud (Ex. AWS Azure GCP OCI). These are examples and experience in all listed solutions are not required.
