Location: Edison NJ
Shift: Nights 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Schedule: Every other weekend required Holidays as needed No on-call
Duration:3 Months
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic hospital team. The RN will be responsible for assessing planning implementing and evaluating patient care in a telemetry unit. This role involves providing high-quality patient-centered care and supporting physicians and healthcare professionals in achieving optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and monitor patients assisting physicians in delivering comprehensive care.
Plan implement and document individualized nursing care based on patient needs.
Identify and prioritize patient needs through thorough assessment and evaluation.
Develop and coordinate a personalized plan of care using the nursing process.
Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care for telemetry patients.
Accurately document all care provided in compliance with established standards and clinical priorities.
Advocate for evidence-based practice and support continuous improvement in clinical care delivery.
Provide patient-centered care consistent with the professional nursing model.
Float within hospital departments as required including ED holding when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with departmental needs.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry experience (within the past 23 years).
Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation and monitoring skills.
Proficiency in managing telemetry patients and using telemetry systems.
Excellent critical thinking communication and team collaboration skills.
Education Requirements:
Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Telemetry Certification or Telemetry Competency Exam Required.
Licensure & Certifications:
Active New Jersey RN license or multi-state compact license required.
BLS American Heart Association (AHA) required.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
Telemetry Certification required.
4-Hour CEU Stroke Education required.
Additional Information:
All patients are on Telemetry monitoring.
Must be willing to float within the hospital including Emergency Department holding areas as needed.
