The Work Unit
The Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention (HPCDP) Branch in Prevention Services Division (PSD) reviews plans designs implements and evaluates public health chronic disease interventions and related risk factors with the goal of advancing health and improving health-related quality of life for all Coloradans. Special emphasis is placed on evidence-based practices data-based and evidence-informed decision making capacity-building partnerships and integration between program efforts for efficiency and effectiveness. The Tobacco Program is part of the HPCDP Branch.
We are aware that many chronic diseases share the same systemic causes: tobacco use lack of access to nutritious foods built environments to support physical activity social connectedness and poverty and economic instability.The Position
This position works collaboratively with entire tobacco team supporting daily operations of the team to align with statewide implementation of Tobacco Control priorities. The position is responsible for developing and adapting policies procedures and records as well as continuous quality improvements activities. The position completes procurement and contracting liaison tasks maintains contract administration and monitoring activities provides programmatic support to various operation level functions and the tobacco review committee for planning and technological support as well as other programmatic stakeholder meetings workshops and conferences. This position exercises independent judgment in providing Customer Service support to the Tobacco program by streamlining troubleshooting investigating researching and resolving customer inquiries problems and program guidelines.
