About the Unit
The Constant Observation Unit provides support to the In-patient and Emergency Center by allocating staff that will supervise and monitor patient requiring continuous or one to one monitoring because of high risk of self-harm aggression or other safety concerns to ensure patient safety and well-being.

Scope of Work
The Patient Sitter under the supervision of an RN provides close observation of patients and assists in the provision of a safe and clean environment. Assists with activities of daily living unless the patient needs are beyond the Patient Sitter scope. The RN delegates to the Patient Observation Aide the patients identified care needs diagnosis visual auditory or language barriers as well as any special consideration (NPO bed alarms etc.). Maintains constant observation of the patients activity and behavior and communicates regularly to the nurse.
Range of Pay
Range of pay between $15.76 and $18.98 based on experience.
