Role Overview
As a Civils Project Coordinator you will play a key role in planning coordinating and managing civil engineering and streetworks activities across infrastructure projects. You will ensure all works are delivered safely efficiently and in compliance with statutory regulations such as NRSWA and TMA. Working closely with internal teams contractors clients and local authorities you will support the successful delivery of projects while minimising disruption to the public and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
Project and Streetworks Coordination
- Coordinate civils and streetworks activities including excavations installations and reinstatements in accordance with project plans and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with local authorities utility providers contractors and stakeholders to obtain permits schedule works and manage restrictions.
- Assist in developing project plans schedules and budgets ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved on time and within scope.
- Allocate and coordinate resources equipment and materials to meet project needs efficiently.
Permit and Compliance Management
- Manage streetworks permitting processes ensuring timely applications approvals and adherence to conditions under NRSWA and TMA.
- Maintain accurate permit records monitor progress and ensure compliance with regulatory and local authority requirements.
- Support project managers in ensuring all works are delivered to quality safety and environmental standards.
Traffic Management and Safety
- Coordinate temporary traffic management arrangements including road closures diversions and signage.
- Work with traffic management providers to ensure compliance with approved plans and minimise disruption to the public.
- Monitor site activities for compliance with health safety and environmental standards escalating issues where necessary.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key point of contact for clients contractors local authorities and residents regarding project activities.
- Provide timely updates on works progress and potential impacts to stakeholders and the public.
- Coordinate meetings prepare updates and maintain positive relationships to ensure smooth project delivery.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate project documentation including permits plans reports and inspection records.
- Track project performance prepare progress reports and communicate updates to management and stakeholders.
- Support post-project reviews capturing lessons learned and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in civil engineering streetworks coordination or project coordination within the utilities or construction sectors.
- Strong knowledge of NRSWA TMA and relevant regulations and codes of practice.
- Excellent organisational communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools (e.g. MS Project Excel or GIS systems).
- Understanding of traffic management principles health and safety regulations and environmental best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
