Job Summary
Are you enthusiastic about Science and eager to support practical learning in a school environment A well-regarded Good Secondary School in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Science Laboratory Assistant to join their Science department from January.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is organised reliable and keen to contribute to a positive learning experience for students studying Science up to KS5.
This role is ideal for applicants considering future teaching laboratory work or further science-based study.

Role Responsibilities:
Preparing materials and equipment for Science practical lessons (KS3KS5)
Supporting class teachers and Science Technicians during demonstrations and experiments
Cleaning maintaining and safely storing laboratory glassware chemicals and equipment
Supporting stock checks ordering of consumables and lab organisation
Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety COSHH and safe handling procedures
Assisting with setting up required apparatus for A-Level practical investigations
Experience and Qualifications:
A science-related background or laboratory experience is desirable
Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
Willingness to follow safety procedures and school protocols
Positive dependable and proactive approach to teamwork
Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a busy environment
Training will be provided for candidates without prior school laboratory experience.
