Registered Nurse - Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU)
- Location: Utica NY 13502
- Duration: 13 week contract
- Shift: 12-hr Nights
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Pay Rate: $2232 $2412; (Negotiable based on experience)
Job Description (JD):
The CTICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients after cardiothoracic surgeries (fresh open-heart post-operative cases). The nurse is responsible for continuous assessment monitoring and management of patients on life-support and advanced cardiac equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to fresh post-op open-heart patients (e.g. CABG valve replacement).
- Manage ventilators chest tubes drips invasive lines and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Monitor patient status and respond to changes quickly and accurately.
- Administer medications and follow physician orders.
- Collaborate with surgeons providers and ICU team to deliver critical care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR.
Required Requirements:
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years RN experience in CTICU / Cardiothoracic ICU
- Fresh heart experience is REQUIRED
- Travel nurse experience required
- Certifications:
- ACLS (required)
- BLS (required)
- NIHSS (required)
- System Experience:
- EPIC required
- Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced critical care environment.
Travel Rule:
- 75-mile radius rule.
- Local pay rates will apply to candidates residing within 75 miles.
