Role: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Orlando FL USA (Onsite)
Duration: Full-time/Permanent
Job details:
- Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
- Contain manage and resolve Quality issues relating to supplier non-conforming components identified at Aero-Derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) at customer assembly facilities warehouses or customers globally.
- Manage suppliers to properly handle non-conformance issues.
- Assist with process improvements.
- Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through Problem Resolution process.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity.
- Identify and support cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business
- Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine capability of manufacturing and ensure quality systems are in place.
- Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements
- Interact with customer-facing businesses to investigate potential product non-conformances
Required Skills:
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO9001) Supplier Quality Management (SQM) and Quality Control routines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Demonstrated ability to work with design engineering organization to ensure parts are manufacturable.
- Proven ability to manage multi-problem investigations simultaneously.
- Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end.
- Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability.
- Technical training or further education in quality mechanical or electrical engineering
- Confident knowledge of office computer programs (MS Office)
- Proactive independent personality
- Excellent communication organizational problem solving skills required.
- Experience or working with critical parts.
- Proven track record of application of Quality improvement processes and tools (e.g. 8D 5 Whys Ishikawa)
- SAP experience
- Experience in power generation/Aerospace industry
