Job Summary (List Format):
- Supervise and work directly with materials/products on the production floor (80% floor 20% office duties).
- Maintain department housekeeping and ensure a safe incident-free work environment.
- Train and develop all quality inspectors within the department.
- Foster a positive team atmosphere and provide leadership by example.
- Plan assign and direct work; appraise performance; manage rewards and discipline; address complaints and resolve problems as assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Inspect and test products/materials at various production stages per quality plans and engineering specifications.
- Perform dimensional visual and functional inspections to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Document inspection and test results clearly indicating pass/fail status.
- Manage nonconforming products according to work instructions and quality procedures.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Apply knowledge of industry welding codes standards nondestructive examinations and powder coating processes.
- Operate and calibrate a variety of inspection and test equipment both precision and non-precision.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to interpret and define product quality criteria.
- May operate overhead or jib cranes as required.
- Adhere to attendance punctuality and overtime requirements.
- Work cooperatively with team members management customers and vendors in a fast-paced environment.
- Monitor and maintain productivity delivery accuracy safety and inventory accuracy metrics.
- Identify and segregate non-compliant materials and submit cost reduction ideas.
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with safety standards and ISO 9001 requirements (if applicable).
- Responsible for overall supervision quality maintenance and accountability within the Quality Control Department.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Control Supervisor.
- Experience with calibration of inspection/test equipment and ISO 9001 environment preferred.
- Non-Destructive Testing Certification preferred.
