Job Summary
CK Group are recruiting for a Project Design Engineer to join a multinational multi-industry company on a contract basis initially till the end of March 2026 with a high likelihood of further extension.
Salary:
515 - 537.50 per day (Inside IR35)
To main purpose of this contract will be to provide technical expertise in the design and installation of Substation Layouts for 400kV to 11kV substation projects.
Duties and responsibilities:
Our client is a multinational company in a range of industries including renewable energy.
The Location:
The role is hybrid primarily home-based with occasional meetings at the Birmingham office.

Salary:

Duties and responsibilities:
- To develop technical specifications and material schedules for primary equipment
- To provide substation layouts and associated detail diagrams in accordance with established UK standards
- To check and approve project documentation
- To produce engineering time estimates and support monthly forecasts to complete.
- To input into design and hazard review meetings
- HNC/HND in related engineering field
- Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution practices (400kV to 11 kV)
- Knowledge of various relevant industry standards including National Grid / SSE / SPEN / DNO requirement
