This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft exceptional pastries and desserts contributing to unforgettable dining experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and design a wide variety of high-quality pastries desserts and baked goods for the restaurant menu.
- Develop innovative pastry and dessert options for seasonal menus and special events.
- Create and modify recipes to suit customer preferences dietary restrictions or feedback.
- Ensure proper FIFO procedures for food storage and rotation to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
- Maintain consistency in taste appearance portion control and presentation standards.
- Oversee ingredient quality and proper handling of all baked goods.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on special menus for events promotions and seasonal changes.
- Manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies minimizing waste and controlling costs.
- Participate in monthly inventory counts and maintain accurate stock documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in a 5-star hotel or fine dining restaurant.
- Matric Certificate.
- Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts Culinary Arts or related field.
