Overview:
Our client a leading national insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Inland Marine / Cargo Claims Examiner to join their growing claims department. This individual will be responsible for handling a portfolio of complex commercial inland marine and cargo claims from initial notice through resolution. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical claims expertise excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver a high level of customer service to insureds and brokers.
Compensation:
- $70000 - $100000/year
- Annual performance bonus.

Requirements:
- 2 years of experience handling inland marine and/or cargo claims for a carrier MGA or TPA.
- Strong knowledge of commercial property inland marine coverages and transportation/cargo exposures.
- Excellent analytical negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple claims in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelors degree preferred; industry designations such as AIC CPCU or AMIM a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and resolve assigned inland marine and cargo claims from first notice of loss through final disposition.
- Conduct thorough coverage analyses and determine appropriate claim handling strategies.
- Investigate facts of loss evaluate damages and determine liability and settlement value.
- Work closely with insureds brokers vendors and legal counsel to ensure timely and equitable claim resolutions.
- Maintain accurate claim documentation in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service while managing expectations and ensuring adherence to company guidelines.
- Identify potential subrogation and recovery opportunities.
- Support the continuous improvement of claims processes and procedures.
