Senior Product Enterprise Architect

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking ahands-on Senior Product Enterprise Architectto leadproduct architecture platform infrastructure development and partner integrationsfor major retail platforms. This role combinestechnical leadershiphands-on development andAI-enabled delivery accelerationto ensure high-quality scalable and future-ready solutions.

You will own theend-to-end architecture lifecycle from discovery and design to delivery and operational readiness guiding both theDiscovery Track(rapid prototyping feasibility validation) and theDelivery Track(production implementation measurable outcomes).

The ideal candidate blendsdeep architecture expertiseplatform infrastructure developmentintegration experience andpractical use of AI-assisted development toolsto accelerate delivery while maintaining architectural integrity.

Key Focus Areas:

Platform Infrastructure & Product Architecture

• Design and implementscalable platform infrastructureto support emerging use cases and product evolution.
• Build and evolvecore platform capabilities APIs microservices data pipelines and shared services.
• Definearchitecture patterns and frameworksthat enable rapid feature development and platform extensibility.
• Lead technical design fornew product capabilitiesas business requirements evolve.

Product & Partner Integration Architecture

• Ownintegration architecture designacross partner ecosystems payments loyalty inventory and cloud services.
• Define and enforceintegration patterns API contracts and data models ensuring interoperability and scalability.
• Govern solution design and trade-offs with a focus on performance security and operational resilience.

Dual-Track Delivery Leadership

• LeadDiscovery and Delivery Trackswithin Dual-Track Agile from exploratory prototypes to validated production implementations.
• Translate discovery outcomes into structured delivery backlogs that preserve design intent and architecture standards.
• Ensure traceability from business requirements to implemented solutions.

AI-Enabled Engineering Acceleration

• ApplyAI-assisted tools and workflows(e.g. GitHub Copilot Cursor Claude Code) for design coding test generation and documentation.
• Introducespec-driven and automated validationpatterns that improve delivery speed and consistency.
• Coach teams on responsible and practical use of AI to enhance quality and productivity.

Hands-On Technical Contribution

• Buildproduction-quality implementationsof critical platform components and new infrastructure.
• Lead by example throughactive coding prototyping and technical problem-solving.
• Participate in code reviews and hands-on delivery of complex features.
• Work primarily withcloud-native stacks(Java/Spring Boot TypeScript React/Vue Docker/Kubernetes).

Governance Mentorship & Continuous Improvement

• Define and upholdarchitecture standards reusable patterns and non-functional requirements(security scalability observability).
• Mentor engineers and junior architects on design practices infrastructure patterns and AI-assisted development.
• Contribute toplatform strategy identifying reusable assets shared APIs and infrastructure opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadend-to-end solution architectureacross discovery design delivery and operational readiness.
• Design and build new platform infrastructureto support emerging product requirements and use cases.
• Produce and maintain key architectural artifacts:ADRs interface contracts data flow diagrams infrastructure specs andtraceability matrices.
• Establish and maintainpartner integration architectures including authentication (OAuth SAML API keys) error handling and versioning strategies.
• Govern architecture consistency across third-party ecosystems and internal product lines.
• Write production codefor critical platform features and infrastructure components.
• Ensurearchitecture quality gatesand participate in design reviews and release sign-offs.
• Identify and mitigate architecture risks compatibility data integrity scalability and partner dependencies.
• Contribute tocontinuous improvementthrough reusable patterns automation and cross-team alignment.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10 yearsof software development experience includingrecent hands-on codingin modern stacks.
• 5 yearsdesigningcloud-native or event-driven architectures(Azure or equivalent).
• Strong experience buildingplatform infrastructure and scalable backend systems.
• Experience withpartner integrations payments SaaS APIs loyalty inventory or authentication providers.
• Expertise inAPI-first design(REST/OpenAPI)event streaming(Kafka RabbitMQ Azure Service Bus) anddata stores(SQL/NoSQL).
• Solid grasp ofcontainerization CI/CD and Kubernetes-based delivery pipelines.
• Provenownership of architecture-to-delivery outcomes including post-release operational accountability.
• Hands-on experience withAI-assisted development toolsand automation in the software lifecycle.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to document present and align across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

• Strong knowledge ofretail domain(POS systems store operations payment processing).
• Certifications such asAzure Solutions ArchitectAWS Solutions Architect or equivalent.
• Experience withAPI Gateway or Integration Platforms(Azure APIM Kong Apigee MuleSoft Boomi).
• Solid understanding ofAPI security and compliance(OAuth 2.0/OIDC JWT PCI).
• Familiarity withformal specifications(OpenAPI AsyncAPI JSON Schema) for contract-driven development.
• Experience withpartner onboarding frameworksand developer portal design.
• Background indistributed systems microservices architecture andinfrastructure as code.
