About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Institutional Investment Operations Senior Manager for our CIB Operations organization. This role involves leading and managing our EMEA Foreign Exchange FCM and International Collateral Management Operations teams.

Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with various lines of Business and Operations Leadership to develop manage and lead Operations functions.

- Supporting different systems processes procedures and controls.

- Working with Global Leads to ensure alignment of processes and controls across regions.

- Managing existing teams analyzing structures and recommending process improvements.

- Reducing manual touch points and developing strategies to support business growth initiatives.

- Streamlining processes through semi or full automation to reduce operational risk.

- Taking ownership of the issue management process for these teams.

The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership qualities effective relationship management and the ability to navigate a complex corporate environment. A sense of urgency a drive for results and accountability for team performance and processes are essential for success in this role.


In this role you will:

  • Provide support to the EMEA Head of CIB and Lending Operations.

  • Manage a best-in-class operations support team that will help the Businesses growth objectives ensuring a client experience that surpasses expectations.

  • Manage operational risk and ensure that processes and procedures are well defined and adhered to leading to a well-controlled risk environment.

  • Manage a well-motivated team that is cross functionally well trained can provide coverage when others are out and collaborate across internal stakeholders as needed. This includes ensuring that the team is functionally set up to support any potential business growth needs.

  • Knowledge of the regional regulator landscape and the impact this has on their teams.

  • Work with global CIB Operations leaders and across other areas to ensure Operations innovation function is transformational working to reduce costs reduce manual processes and drive more effective and efficient behaviors.

  • Manage a well-motivated team that is cross functionally well trained can provide coverage when others are out and collaborate across internal stakeholders as needed.

  • Act as the key point of contact for senior leaders in CIB Business Operations Operational Risk Compliance Legal and Technology with outcomes that:

    • Place FX Operations in a strong position to execute and deliver results

    • Connect FX Operations to other parts of the organization to ensure no duplicated efforts while ensuring a standard best in class delivery.

  • Manage the day-to-day transaction activity originated by sales and trading. Ensure trades are confirmed and settled on a timely basis; raise issues as needed.

  • Driving the team to achieve a high level of change through transformational leadership by ensuring strong and timely execution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Institutional Investment Operations or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience training military experience education.

  • Management or leadership experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Product/Business Knowledge:

    • Strong product knowledge of FX products: Spot Forwards Swaps NDFs Options Window forwards Futures and Options Novations Net Present Values and CLS (matching in/out swaps IPIS and RPIS) Collateral Calls and managing disputes.

    • Knowledge of Capital Markets businesses with focus on Foreign Exchange and FCM products and services and relevant risks and controls of these businesses.

    • Knowledge of end-to-end trade lifecycle of Foreign exchange and Futures and Options products including trade capture affirmation confirmation settlement cancels corrects amends post settlement processes and collateral call and dispute management.

    • Knowledge of confirmation matching and payment processes and platforms such as FXALL GTSS Misys Omgeo/CTM Alert Bloomberg CMS CLS Browse.

    • Experience of operating in a global follow the sun support model.

  • Risk Management

    • Understand market risk; understand the consequences of trade modification post settlement be able to discuss risks with sales and trading.

    • Demonstrated capability to confidently raise issues escalate early and engage in constructive credible challenge independently.

    • Follow the Fims escalation policy and protocols.

  • Process Improvement

    • Experience in process improvement automation of control processes ability to influence senior leadership transformational change with the proven track record of execution.

    • Experience with first line and understanding a complex business with the ability to deliver and execute on innovation work across the enterprise understand operations processing improve client relationships and lead by example.

    • Ability to identify inefficiencies opportunities to streamline business processes and implement change.

    • Ability to translate complex technical needs into straightforward requests for information and collaboration working with a wide range of people.

    • Ability to incorporate multiple data sources and develop strategies/operational processes.

  • People Management

    • Ability to positively influence motivate and direct diverse teams in a shift based decentralized and geographically dispersed environment.

    • Ability to motivate a team and lead strategic initiatives collaborating across a large organization and multi-tasking as required.

    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels where flexibility collaboration and adaptability are important.
