Peraton is seeking a Lead Voice Communications Manager (Product Manager)to oversee the planning execution and performance of FAA voice communications systems critical to air traffic control operations. This role ensures the reliability scalability and integration of voice communication capabilities across the NAS supporting mission-critical interactions between air traffic controllers pilots and automated ideal candidate combines telecommunications expertise with program management experience leading teams to deliver high-reliability safe and compliant voice communications capabilities that advance FAA modernization goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead lifecycle management of voice communications systems including planning integration deployment and sustainment across BNATCS initiatives.

  • Support the Project/Program Manager in planning managing and monitoring voice communication projects from concept through delivery.

  • Develop and manage schedules budgets deliverables and performance metrics; provide briefings on program status risks and mitigation strategies.

  • Establish and maintain systems for data collection performance tracking and documentation to ensure visibility into project progress.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations to optimize voice communication system performance reliability and security.

  • Identify assess and resolve risks and issues to prevent or minimize impacts to program success.

  • Ensure compliance with FAA federal and industry standards including cybersecurity and operational requirements.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams contractors and FAA stakeholders to achieve technical schedule and cost objectives.

  • Prepare and review program documentation monthly variance reports and performance assessments.

  • Oversee audit file maintenance ensuring adherence to reporting criteria and regulatory compliance.

  • Monitor program efficiency and effectiveness recommending improvements to processes system design or operational procedures.

  • Serve as a primary interface for FAA leadership and partners on all matters related to voice communications systems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • 12 years of experience may have supervisory or management experience
  • 10 years of experience managing large-scale voice communications or telecommunications systems in government aviation or defense environments.
  • Deep understanding of air traffic control voice communications technologies including VoIP legacy and modern voice infrastructure and integrated controller-pilot systems.
  • Proven program and project management experience including scheduling budgeting reporting and risk management.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to brief executives and government personnel.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with multiple agencies or contractors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience supporting FAA voice communication programs (e.g. NAS Voice System ERAM or similar modernization efforts).
  • PMP PgMP or Agile/SAFe certification.
  • Knowledge of FAA acquisition systems engineering and certification processes.
  • Familiarity with network security redundancy and high-availability design for mission-critical communication systems.

Target Salary Range

$112000 - $179000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
