The Pacific Area Finance and Records Department (FRD) is seeking to appoint a Finance Manager to be based at Liahona High School Campus in Tonga. This is a full-time permanent senior level position offering a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the financial stewardship of the Churchs operation in Tonga.
The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil a range of key responsibilities and meet essential qualifications and experience criteria aligned with the professional standards of the role.
Provide oversight and supervision of staff including selection training motivating performance and disciplinary issues
Lead and manage the finance function in Tonga including providing support to Local Unit Finance Team
Develop key relationships with Senior Government Officials Government Departments and Banks
Support counsel and provide key guidance to the other members of Tonga Management Team
Research and resolve complex financial issues
Ensure accuracy of ledgers and timely reconciliations
Efficiency in the completion and filing of all statutory reports and disclosures
Build and maintain relationships of trust with key customers
Ensure the maintenance and design of internal controls
Prepare special studies and reports when and as required
Has a bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field masters degree is preferred
Has a minimum of ten years of related professional work experience
Experience at a senior management level
Current professional qualification is preferred i.e. CPA or MBA
Has proficiency in networks and basic software applications including spreadsheets and databases
Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English and Tongan
Experience working in a professional environment
Ability to respond meet deadlines and solve complex problems
Previous management and supervisory experience is essential
Maintain temple worthiness standards
