Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatric Emergency Department (Night Shift)
Location: Syracuse NY
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift 7:00 PM 7:30 AM 12-hour shifts 3 shifts per week
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with strong pediatric emergency experience for a full-time night shift position in a busy emergency department. The ideal candidate will bring advanced triage skills a calm demeanor under pressure and proven experience caring for pediatric patients in an acute or trauma hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to pediatric patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Conduct triage assessments using formal triage training to prioritize patient care efficiently.
Collaborate closely with physicians specialists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Administer medications treatments and emergency interventions in accordance with clinical protocols.
Float as required to other emergency units within the facility.
Accurately document all patient care using electronic medical record systems.
Maintain compliance with safety infection control and hospital quality standards.
Qualifications
License: Active RN license in the State of New York (or compact state eligibility).
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric emergency experience (within the past 2 years) in a comparable acute care facility.
Certifications:
Current BLS certification (must be eligible for renewal).
TNCC or TCRN required.
Pediatric Triage Training required.
Preferred Skills: Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers and with EPIC EMR.
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have a clean professional recordno license suspensions investigations or liability claims.
Must pass all pre-employment screenings including health clearance background check and drug screening.
Schedule & Shift Details
Shift: Night Shift 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Rotation: Every other weekend and some holidays required
Floating: May float to other emergency departments within the facility
