Job Summary
RESPEC seeks an experienced Civil Engineer located in our Juneau Fairbanks Anchorage AK or Rapid City SD locations.
The Engineer will work with a team of multi-discipline engineers/EITs in preparing professional work products including water and wastewater utility design site grading stormwater management sediment and erosion control and Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation permitting. Additional responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve our clients technical challenges
- Develop project designs plan drawings engineering reports technical specifications and other contract deliverables
- Track project progress within established project scopes budgets and schedules and alert project managers of any issues that may affect them
- Support other market sectors on design projects as workload dictates
- Prepare clear and concise written communications and participate in client and team meetings
- Present design projects as required as part of outreach to clients and the public
- Conduct research and write technical portions of proposals to assist in bringing in new work
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- A bachelors degree in civil engineering
- 5 years of civil engineering experience with an emphasis on design
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word Excel)
- The ability to contribute to multiple projects concurrently
- An eye for detail and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred qualifications include the following:
- A Professional Civil Engineer license
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS experience (support will be provided by drafting technicians and EITs).
