Best Line Equipment is seeking a full-time Benefit Specialist to work in our State College Business office. The Benefit Specialist position is a full-time on-site salaried role.
Role Summary:
The Benefit Specialist is responsible for managing and administering employee benefits and retirement programs. Additionally the Benefit Specialist provides daily support to the Human Resources Office ensuring the effective operation of HR functions. The position demands meticulous attention to detail in benefits enrollment compliance and employee support all critical for smooth and efficient benefits administration. This office-based position involves frequent sitting or standing handling office equipment and regular communication with staff. Occasional travel may be required and candidates must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversight of employee benefits including: self-insured medical and dental fully-insured vision and life insurance as well as disability and 401K plans.
- Administering paperwork related to leave-of-absence and disability while maintain strict compliance with employment laws and company policy.
- Addressing benefit inquiries and managing claims.
- Administrative and Reporting Duties: The position entails performing data entry maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information preparing reports and ensuring compliance with government regulations such as ERISA FMLA HIPAA and ACA.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent professional experience
- At least 2 years of experience in benefits administration (self-insured experience is highly sought after) and HR is required
- Valid Drivers License
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of employee benefits and relevant legislation
- Excellent Organizational and Time Management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable software is essential
- Work Site: The position is based at the Business Office in State College PA.
