Recycling Machine Operator - Day Shift
Quality Staffing Inc.is now hiring a Recycling Machine Operator for a local manufacturing company in Chatsworth GA. Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Flexibility for Overtime) Pay Rate:$13.00 per hour
Job Summary
The Recycling Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery within the recycling department. This includes operating monitoring and maintaining recycling equipment ensuring product quality and supporting production goals. Candidates must be dependable safety-focused and ready to work in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform pre-shift inspections on assigned recycling machines and report issues before start-up.
- Prepare sort and cut materials as required for machine processing.
- Feed raw materials into machines and check output for quality and consistency.
- Safely operate a forklift to transport materials as needed.
- Package finished products (bales boxes pallets) as required.
- Monitor machine performance and notify the supervisor of malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate production logs and records for each shift.
- Print and attach labels to finished goods.
- Keep work areas clean and organized following housekeeping standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Assist with general warehouse tasks or other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment.
- Attention to detail; ability to assess quality and type of materials by sight and touch.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in environments with temperature variations dust and loud noise.
- Physically able to perform repetitive motions (wrists hands arms) kneel bend and stand for long periods.
- Ability to safely handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to learn and safely operate a forklift.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This position involves frequent standing walking bending kneeling and reaching. Lifting up to 50 lbs is required. Work is performed in an industrial warehouse setting with exposure to loud noise dust heat and cold. PPE (hearing protection gloves safety glasses steel-toed shoes) must be worn as required. Work may involve proximity to moving mechanical parts and occasional climbing of stairs or ladders.
