We are seeking a Research Farm Manager for our Lincoln Farm to lead the day-to-day operation of one of our key research farms supporting science teams small seed production and integrated livestock management while maintaining the highest standards of performance safety and compliance.

This is a people-centred role where relationship management coordination and teamwork are just as important as technical farming skills. Youll work closely with scientists technicians and operational colleagues to turn research plans into practical on-farm outcomes. As the Lincoln Research Farm Manager youll take a proactive and strategic approach to planning and delivering all on-farm activities. Working together with Science Leads external stake holders and the National Farm Operations Manager youll coordinate cropping schedules trial support and livestock activities to meet research and production goals.

Your success will come from clear communication careful planning and strong partnerships ensuring farm operations align seamlessly with research priorities. Youll champion health safety and wellbeing foster teamwork and create a workplace where collaboration drives success.

  • Manage and implement financial and feed budgets.
  • Partner with science and research teams to plan and deliver trials and production activities accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate small seed and arable crop production from planning through to harvest.
  • Lead operational planning around crop rotation soil health and irrigation management.
  • Maintain robust systems for chemical use compliance and record keeping.
  • Build and manage strong working relationships with employees contractors and research partners.
  • Promote and model best practice in Health Safety and Wellbeing.
  • Oversee small livestock component (sheep and cattle) as part of an integrated research system.

Youre a practical organised and relationship-focused professional who values accuracy and collaboration. You take pride in building strong connections with colleagues and scientists planning and ensuring that every detail supports the success of the wider team.

To be successful youll have:

  • Proven experience in small seed or arable crop management (research or commercial).
  • A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture Agronomy or equivalent experience.
  • People management experience (preferable) along with strong planning coordination and communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of irrigation chemical use and compliance systems.
  • Practical livestock management experience (sheep and/or cattle).
  • GROWSAFE or Certified Handler qualification (or willingness to obtain).
