Job Summary

Job Title: Computer Programming

Wage/Hour Status: Contract Hourly

Pay: $18.00

Primary Purpose:Windham School District looking for a passionate and skilled coding specialist to teach coding and software development concepts. This instructor will inspire students through engaging lessons and practical projects preparing them for successful careers in technology.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Experience:

Education:High school diploma from an accredited high school or hold GED is required.

Bachelors or Associates degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field; or at least five years of relevant experience in computer programming is preferred.

Experience:Prior teaching experience in programming or significant industry experience in software development is highly desirable.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in multiple programming languages and development tools; familiarity with current coding practices and software development methodologies.

Soft Skills:Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to inspire and engage students

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.

Storng organizational communication and interpersonal skills.

Skill to interpret and apply rules regulations policies and procedures.

Skill in organizing and maintaining accurate records.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Implement or Design a comprehensive curriculum covering programming languages such as Python Java C and web development technologies (HTML CSS JavaScript).

dynamic lectures and hands-on coding workshops ensuring that students grasp core concepts and can apply their knowledge effectively.

real-world coding projects that enable students to build a portfolio and gain practical experience.

4. Create and administer assessments to evaluate student progress providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.

5. Utilize modern educational technologies and coding tools to enhance the learning experience.

6. Offer individualized support and mentorship to students helping them overcome challenges and develop their programming skills

partnerships with local tech companies for guest lectures internships and job placement opportunities.

current with industry trends and advancements in programming languages and teaching methodologies.

and direct learning activities of adult incarcerated students.

the Windham School District (WSD) curriculum guide(s) for area of assignment.

in district staff development programs as required.

and participate in faculty meetings.

in all evaluations and self-studies as required by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and contracting agency.

on curriculum textbooks and other committees as assigned.

lesson plans in accordance with the criteria established by WSD policy.

accurate attendance records in the manner prescribed by WSD.

reports as required by program needs and administrative requests.

clear oral and written instructions to students.

student behavior in the classroom and is firm fair and consistent.

a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and educational growth of the students.

and use various methods to teach basic concepts for subject level.

activities for individual student needs and engage and maintain the interest of students in instructional activity.

diagnostic placement tests achievement tests curriculum tests and other tests as required by the principal.

seating materials and displays in such a manner as to harmonize with instructional aims and procedures.

informed of and comply with all policies and procedures pertinent to the use of instructional materials equipment and textbooks.

all unit procedures in checking out materials supplies and equipment and promptly report any defective equipment and/or student abuse of materials supplies or equipment.

knowledge training and appropriate media in a systems approach to instruction as outlined in curriculum guides.

Keep informed of and comply with policies of the WSD and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Maintain Student Progress Records cards as directed by WSD policies and procedures.

Follow statutory and agency regulations.

Cooperate with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals objectives methods and policy according to WSD requirements.

Demonstrate progress in meeting student performance targets of the district.

Demonstrate progress in meeting assigned action plans of the district or campus improvement plans.

Develop use and evaluate ideas and/or innovative approaches to improve performance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervise adult incarcerated students in classroom settings. May also supervise teacher aides.

Environmental Demands:

Work inside and outside noise radiant/electrical energy work alone work with others around machines with moving parts and objects possible exposure to microwaves in use exposure to hot and cold temperatures exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
