Role Description:

Lead the design development and validation of Battery Management Systems for electric vehicles. Own the BMS architecture covering hardware software algorithms and communication interfaces to ensure reliable safe and efficient battery operation compliant with automotive standards.

• Able to define BMS Product features (High and Low Voltage Batteries)
• Define BMS system architecture (cell monitoring pack control communication diagnostics).
• Develop algorithms for SOC SOH SOP estimation balancing fault detection and protection logic.
• Design and review hardware schematics including sensing circuits isolation and safety protections.
• Ensure compliance with ASIL-B and functional safety design (ISO 26262).
• Integrate thermal management and charger interaction (OBC regenerative braking).
• Develop and test embedded firmware for control protection and communication (CAN LIN ISO-TP).
• Support validation at component subsystem and vehicle level (HIL bench and field testing).
• Collaborate with hardware software and mechanical teams to achieve robust production-ready BMS.
• Evaluate suppliers for key BMS components (AFE microcontroller isolators etc.).
• Support data analytics and IoT integration for remote monitoring and diagnostics.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 5 years of experience in BMS design and development (automotive or industrial domain).
• Proven hands-on experience with lithium-ion battery systems (EV ESS or similar).
• Solid understanding of battery chemistry cell modeling and thermal behavior.
• Strong embedded C/C programming and hardware debugging skills.
• Experience with communication protocols (CAN CAN FD UDS Modbus etc.).
• Familiarity with HIL test systems.
• Knowledge of standards: ISO 26262 ISO 15118 IEC 62660 UN-R100.
• Advantages: experience with battery swapping multi-pack synchronization or IoT telemetry.
