DescriptionThe Clinical Services Representative supports clinical staff by performing a variety of clerical tasks that help maintain unit efficiency and deliver excellent customer service to patients and visitors. This role follows established guidelines and works under close supervision.

Responsibilities
Patient Medical Records
- Assemble and maintain patient charts from admission through discharge.
- Collect printouts file documents in charts run reports and retrieve data as requested by physicians and nurses.
- Order necessary equipment and unit supplies ensuring adequate inventory levels.
- Accurately and promptly process patient orders exam requests and ancillary services such as x-rays lab tests and transportation.
- Coordinate patient admissions transfers and discharges.
- Retrieve medications from the pneumatic tube system or pharmacy and deliver them to the nurse or place them in a secure location as directed by the nurse manager.
Quality
- Assist nursing staff with retrieving medications and placing them in appropriate locations for administration.
- Act as a receptionist by greeting patients directing visitors and providing information to medical staff.
- Answer phones using proper etiquette and respond to patient call lights promptly.
- Maintain a neat clean and organized work area and ensure office equipment is in working order.
Collaboration & Partnership
- Contact physicians for consults and notify nursing staff of consultations.
Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned or requested.
QualificationsEducation - High School or equivalent
Training - Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant Training preferred. Cerner (CIS)
Special Skills - Communication Customer Service Computer Skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Able to use office equipment and multi-task.
Licensure - Current BLS certification only required in mental health departments
