Position Overview
Victaulic is seeking an experienced Buying Planning Supervisor to lead and support our catalog buyer planner team. This role is critical in ensuring seamless catalog operations inventory accuracy and efficient procurement processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities excellent organizational skills and deep knowledge of buying and planning functions.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Support
- Supervise and mentor the catalog buyer planner team providing guidance on daily operations and strategic initiatives
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to assess performance provide feedback and support professional development
- Allocate workload effectively across the team to optimize productivity and meet deadlines
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages continuous improvement and problem-solving
- Develop maintain and update standard work documents for all team processes and procedures
- Ensure team members are trained on and adhere to standard work documentation
- Review and revise standard work documents regularly to reflect process improvements and best practices
Catalog Launch Execution
- Lead the execution of new catalog launches from planning through implementation
- Coordinate cross-functionally with marketing merchandising operations and supply chain teams to ensure successful launches
- Develop and maintain launch timelines ensuring all milestones are met
- Monitor launch performance and implement corrective actions as needed
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures for catalog launch processes
Cycle Count Management
- Oversee and execute cycle count programs to maintain inventory accuracy
- Analyze cycle count results and investigate discrepancies
- Implement corrective actions to address root causes of inventory variances
- Develop and track key performance indicators related to inventory accuracy
- Train team members on proper cycle count procedures and best practices
Part Code Approval Process
- Manage the part code approval workflow ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and approve new part code requests according to established guidelines
- Maintain data integrity within the item master database
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve part code discrepancies
- Establish and enforce standards for part numbering and classification
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Identify opportunities to streamline buying and planning processes
- Generate regular reports on team performance inventory metrics and catalog health
- Monitor key performance indicators and take proactive measures to address issues
- Implement best practices and drive operational excellence initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration or related field
- 5 years of experience in buying planning or procurement roles
- 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
