Fabrication Buying Planning Supervisor

Description

• Supervise and mentor the catalog buyer planner team providing guidance on daily operations and strategic initiatives
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to assess performance provide feedback and support professional development
• Allocate workload effectively across the team to optimize productivity and meet deadlines
• Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages continuous improvement and problem-solving
• Develop maintain and update standard work documents for all team processes and procedures
• Ensure team members are trained on and adhere to standard work documentation
• Review and revise standard work documents regularly to reflect process improvements and best practices

• Lead the execution of new catalog launches from planning through implementation
• Coordinate cross-functionally with marketing merchandising operations and supply chain teams to ensure successful launches
• Develop and maintain launch timelines ensuring all milestones are met
• Monitor launch performance and implement corrective actions as needed
• Create and maintain standard operating procedures for catalog launch processes

• Oversee and execute cycle count programs to maintain inventory accuracy
• Analyze cycle count results and investigate discrepancies
• Implement corrective actions to address root causes of inventory variances
• Develop and track key performance indicators related to inventory accuracy
• Train team members on proper cycle count procedures and best practices

• Manage the part code approval workflow ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Review and approve new part code requests according to established guidelines
• Maintain data integrity within the item master database
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve part code discrepancies
• Establish and enforce standards for part numbering and classification

• Identify opportunities to streamline buying and planning processes
• Generate regular reports on team performance inventory metrics and catalog health
• Monitor key performance indicators and take proactive measures to address issues
• Implement best practices and drive operational excellence initiatives

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration or related field
• 5 years of experience in buying planning or procurement roles
• 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and ERP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal
