CDL Class A Driving Instructor (Full-Time)

Position Overview:

CNS is thrilled to welcome a talented and driven CDL Instructor to one of the fastest-growing CDL Driver Training Center teams in the country. This role offers exciting growth opportunities as youll report directly to our Vice President of Operations for our Driver Training Center. As a CDL Instructor you will be responsible for delivering engaging hands-on training to students setting clear objectives and evaluating trainee performance. Youll prepare the truck driving range maintain accurate records and provide mentorship and support to help students succeed. Youll also collaborate with the VP of Operations to manage equipment maintenance and stay current on industry regulations and compliance. On-site travel for contracted training may be required.

This role offers cross-training opportunities within the company and the chance to contribute to classroom instruction as needed.

• Prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for CDL trainees.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for each learning activity.
• Prepare the truck driving range for class and instruction.
• Observe and assess trainee performance providing feedback to support their development.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of trainee progress throughout the program.
• Offer mentorship within the trucking industry.
• Collaborate with the VP of Operations to oversee equipment maintenance performing light. repairs and scheduling as needed.
• Implement hands-on training in line with the CNS CDL curriculum.
• Stay current with industry regulations compliance and continuing education to ensure program quality.
• Travel to client sites for contracted training as needed.

What We Need from You (Skills/Requirements)

To be successful in this position the employee will possess the following skills and competencies:

• A minimum of 5 years driving with a CDL
• Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy
• Effective communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to provide clear instruction
• Maintain a positive attitude in all circumstances
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time and responsibilities
• Exceptional driving skills
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision or on-site support
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Class A Unrestricted CDL License
• Current DOT medical examination and valid medical card
