This position is responsible for designing and developing suppression systems to prevent or aid fires. Their responsibilities revolve around performing research and analysis utilizing feedback from customers and other experts producing prototypes or samples and coordinating with engineers and technicians.
Furthermore a fire suppression designer may design upgrades and enhancements create testing structures take part in installing and repairing systems and conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure the fire suppression systems quality and efficiency.
*Salary range: $90k-$125k depending on experience and qualifications
*Sign on bonus or Relocation available to eligible candidates*
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Follow all OSHA standards and laws.
Attend regular development meetings.
Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.
Incorporate feedback into 3D model designs.
Make revisions to models as requested.
Run simulations and stress-tests on all 3D models before prototyping.
Keep up to date on all modern advancements in material and software technologies.
Pursue ongoing education in the field.
Utilize large databases of material property information to best select materials for modeling.
Re-create new (MEP) and structural drawings under existing conditions for design coordination.
Read and interpret architectural structural and MEP drawings.
Provide accurate electrical schematics per client conditions and analyze and track technical specifications including dimensions arrangements and installation procedures.
Analyze and verify all hydraulic calculations to ensure adequate agent delivery in the event of a fire condition emergency.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
Minimum 2-year degree in related field (preferred).
Bachelors or Certifications (preferred).
At least 2 years of experience utilizing CAD software.
Minimum 2 years working in a professional environment.
NICET certification (Level III) in Water-Based Systems Layout is highly preferred
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
An abundance of patience to see a complicated project to the end.
Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk use hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands or arms stoop kneel crouch or crawl and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing climbing grasping hearing mental acuity pulling pushing repetitive motion speaking talking and visual acuity.
