Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM Technician)
Location: Houston TX 77074 (Southwest Houston Harris County)

$24.00 - $26.00/Hour
The Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM technician) role at KhS focuses on delivering on-site in-transit repair solutions for vehicles within the finished vehicle supply chain. This includes servicing vehicles at manufacturing plants transit sites auctions dealerships and distribution centers. As a Tech-OEM you will perform specialized technology-driven repairs to minimize downtime and ensure vehicles meet OEM standards prior to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Perform in-transit repairs on new vehicles including:
Key programming and replacement
Battery replacements
Wheel and tire replacements
Travel to client sites using a company vehicle and mobile toolkit to provide on-site repairs
Stay current with evolving vehicle technologies through ongoing training (e.g. advanced key systems EV components)
Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
Clock in/out using Workday system during assigned shifts
Work within assigned business hours; obtain approval for overtime
Respond to internal communications within the same business day
Use Smartsheet and other systems to document and complete claims per customer requirements
Refer to process documents or escalate unclear repairs to management
Maintain and update equipment including:
Battery testing tools
Tire changing tools and jacks
Programming software and firmware
Company vehicle (including scheduled maintenance)
Report any vehicle or equipment issues immediately to management
Notify management of any accidents or damage involving company vehicles
Maintain open communication with management regarding daily tasks and scheduling
Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
2 years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician
Expertise in key programming wheel repair battery systems or light mechanical work preferred
OEM certification is a plus
Proficiency with diagnostic tools and estimating software (e.g. CCC Audatex Mitchell)
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Willingness to travel regionally (up to 50%)
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Ability to work independently in variable weather conditions
Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
Effective communication and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
Work in automotive repair shops refurbishing facilities or outdoor environments
Must be clean-shaven and fit-tested to wear a respirator
Physical stamina to reach overhead kneel bend squat and lift up to 45 lbs
Ability to twist and maneuver into awkward positions
Exposure to noise dust and chemicals; must wear protective gear (gloves goggles masks)

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications experience and geographic location.
The starting compensation is expected to be:
