DescriptionMayo Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - to join our world-class Hematology and Oncology team. This role will primarily support the Bone Marrow Transplant and Acute Leukemia disease group within our outpatient practice.
As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive evidence-based care to patients across all stages of their treatment journey including curative and palliative-intent therapies. This includes managing patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation and CAR T-cell therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments including history and physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the care team.
- Monitor and evaluate therapeutic interventions for effectiveness.
- Educate and counsel patients and families to support informed decision-making and adherence to treatment.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with Florida state laws and institutional policies.
- Collaborate across specialties and refer to appropriate services as needed.
- Perform procedures including bone marrow biopsies and administration of intrathecal chemotherapy via Ommaya reservoir.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and policy development.
- Engage in institutional research and educational activities.
- Attend and contribute to disease group discussions and multidisciplinary meetings.

QualificationsNew Grads will not be considered at this time. 2 years minimum as a practicing Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP ANP or ACNP.
Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.
Additional Qualifications:
- Previous hematology/oncology or transplant experience preferred but not required.
- Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
- Excellent communication critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
