Shipping & Receiving

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the shipping receiving and delivery of supplies materials and equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records. This role requires attention to detail strong organizational skills and the ability to follow established safety and operational procedures in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Receive and unload freight manually or using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage; verify items against purchase orders.

Package label and ship supplies to internal and external destinations.

Deliver and retrieve supplies from work areas or storage locations.

Maintain organized inventory by stocking rotating and tracking supplies.

Participate in regular physical inventories and update records as items are received or shipped.

Operate a computer to enter update and correct inventory information.

Provide customer service by answering inquiries and assisting with supply availability and pricing.

Assist with property disposal records retention and damage claim preparation when needed.

Safely handle and store materials including hazardous or flammable items in compliance with regulations.

Requirements

Experience:

6 months of experience in shipping receiving warehouse distribution or manufacturing environment (plastics preferred).

Must have experience with forklifts pallet jacks or other material-handling equipment.

Skills/Qualifications:

Ability to speak read and write English.

Must have basic computer skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Basic math skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipments and records.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet shipping deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Basic understanding of warehouse safety standards and best practices.

Forklift certification or hazmat handling experience.

Physical Demands and working Environment

Frequent standing walking bending kneeling and lifting.

Ability to safely lift up to 30 pounds independently and repeatedly.

Regular exposure to warehouse conditions including noise temperature changes and physical activity.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required including safety glasses hearing protection and back supports.

Loose clothing and jewelry are not permitted for safety reasons.
