Title:Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Kankakee IL

Pay:$33.20 - $33.65

Shift:2nd Shift. Monday - Friday 3-11:30 PM

Overview:

Performs routine emergency and preventive maintenance work on office and plant equipment machines and building facilities.

Essential Job Functions

Assist in maintaining plant security
Maintain equipment and tools
Dispose of waste materials empty containers and piece drums accordingly
Calibrate equipment as needed/required
Keep work areas clean
Can perform up to 60% of procedures within the department

Required Education and Experience:

Pumps (positive displacement and centrifugal) drives (gearbox belt chain hydraulic couplings motor-electric motors-air bearings shafts nuts bolts taps and dies.
High voltage 460-volt 3 phase motor controls low voltage (120V power and control wiring) AC and DC systems. Computer controlled systems.
Piping (water air and steam) Boilers - understand Steam condensate system - tracing coils traps and pumps. Air Compressor system - including filters regulators dryers and lubricators. HVAC - air handling blowers dust collectors.
Lift trucks - electric EE rated battery and hydraulics.
Ability to read and write and do simple arithmetic.
Working knowledge of mechanics
Ability to read blueprints and sketches
Knowledge of pipe fitting electrical wiring and general mechanics
High school Diploma or GED Required
