Description

Rasmey County Second District is seeking to fill an Accounting Supervisor (Accountant II) position with the Accounting and Finance this detail-oriented role you will be responsible for supervising accounting staff maintaining fiscal controls auditing and working closely with the accounting manager on various projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage budget process including position control; monitor funds and expenditure accounts conduct analysis prepare and submit justifications recommendations and reports.
  • Provide direct supervision to accounting and clerical staff including participating in recruitment and selection of new employees coordinating work providing training assigning job duties reviewing work performance evaluations and resolving personnel problems.
  • Develop revise and recommend policies and procedures for accounting budgeting contracts and grants. Review policies to identify potential financial/auditable areas and develop audit practices and workflows based on policies.
  • Perform professional accounting work involving preparation analysis maintenance reporting auditing and coordination of various treatment court funds grant budgets mandated services and specialty court funds.
  • Provide recommendations of use of funds and cost saving measures; prepare financial reports; respond to requests findings and recommendations from external auditors.
  • Supervise audit analyze reconcile and verify the accuracy of a variety of accounting records; confirms that records and accounting procedures meet guidelines and requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in accounting and thorough experience in professional level accounting or finance preferably in the public sector.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Considerable knowledge of accounting principles practices and procedures including governmental accounting
  • Ability to apply professional accounting principles and methods to a variety of accounting procedures and problems.
  • Ability to prepare analyze and maintain accurate and complete accounting financial budget and other records and budgetary and other financial reports.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing including with non-accounting persons.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and representatives of other agencies.
  • Ability to plan assign review and supervise the work of assigned employees.
  • Ability to interpret explain and apply complex laws rules policies and procedures.
  • Ability to establish modify and recommend accounting policies and procedures.
