BBC Studios Kids & Family portfolio boasts some of the most exciting and successful local and global franchises in the world with BAFTA winning craft and storytelling. Our incredibly diverse multi-genre portfolio includes iconic titles such as Blue Peter The Dumping Ground JoJo & Gran Gran Supertato Odd Squad and The CBeebies Specials. Our teams are passionate about creating internationally world-class content for our young audiences.
Were opening up a Production Coordinator (PC) Talent Pool as we are anticipating a number of PC roles across our productions in 2026. Currently we are predicting PC roles on Blue Peter and CBeebies commissions (TBC).
These PC roles are based in MediaCityUK Salford and will be hybrid working 2/3 days a week in the office along with location and studio based filming when required. Other PC roles may be appointed on other productions from this talent pool.
HOW OUR TALENT POOLS WORK
These talent pools are an opportunity for us to reach out and engage with experienced Production Coordinators who want to work with the Kids & Family team. Unfortunately being in the pool doesnt mean youll be guaranteed to work with us but it does mean youll be considered when opportunities arise.
These pools will form a database for us to refer to when opportunities come up. If we approach you and you are not available dont worry! We understand thats the nature of freelance.
Advantages of being in a talent pool:
- Applying now means you shouldnt need to go through an assessment process for future opportunities.
- You dont need to be available now to apply - this is about making sure youre considered for anything we have over the next 12 months.
- If you dont know our Hiring Managers this is an excellent opportunity to start building relationships with them and show them your skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CRITERIA
The successful candidates will have experience in dealing with contributors their carers and parents on screen talent and crew. You will ideally have the following skillset:
- Competent in working through and building complex logistical plans considering the needs and requirements of crew and contributors whilst ensuring shoots are set up appropriately.
- Significant experience in generating call sheets and ensuring all talent crew and contributors remain up to date with information as required.
- Demonstrable knowledge of contracting crew and on screen talent via Smartbook and talent requisitions whilst keeping across expenses and other supplementary payments.
- Experience in building and maintaining detailed finance logs and accommodation plans.
- Ability to seek out value for money when booking resources.
- Experience in gathering and recording evidence throughout the course of a production for Albert reporting.
- A passion for driving sustainable production techniques and efficiencies across processes.
- Experience of being the main point of contact for potential Production Apprentices or Runners who may be working across the production.
- Experience of keeping records of working hours.
- Demonstrable understanding of Safeguarding and completing child licensing documentation.
- Demonstrable understanding of monitoring and reporting on production diversity using Diamond.
- Knowledge of Business Legal Affairs (BLA) including location agreements music copyright rights clearances.
- Experience of Health and Safety (H&S) and Insurance on productions ensuring all suppliers crew and locations meet required standards.
- Understanding of post-production processes including edit schedules and experience in completing Silvermouse paperwork.
