Location: Syracuse NY

Shift Type: Night Shift (7:00 PM 7:00 AM 3x12-hour shifts 36 hours/week)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have pediatric and adult care experience strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy to patients.
Initiate and monitor oxygen therapy.
Assist physicians in initiating and maintaining continuous ventilation.
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as required.
Perform pulmonary function tests and radial arterial punctures.
Accurately document therapy assessments and responses in the medical record.
Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Perform patient care tasks in the acute care setting with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Education: Associates Degree (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy.
Licensure: Active and valid New York State Respiratory Therapist License/Registration.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-degree acute care clinical experience required.
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
Skills: Must demonstrate strong communication assessment and technical respiratory therapy skills.
Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance background check and drug screening.
Preferences
Pediatric care experience preferred.
Only candidates located outside a 100-mile radius will be considered.
Block scheduling not available.
Travelers cannot hold dual assignments concurrently.

Shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Hours: 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 weeks with possible extension.
