OurProduct Support and Logistics Division (PSLD)is one of the most innovative divisions within PSLD as within all of Caterpillar our priority is ourcustomers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly everyelement of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities technology and operational excellence.

The Global Service team enables a differentiated and superior customer service experience resulting in sustainable and profitable services growth with a focus on safety quality and efficiency. The goal is to enable both dealer and customer service success by leveraging digital capabilities technology world-class training and accurate service information to deliver the desired outcomes.

We are currently seeking a Rebuild Consultant to join the Global Service Rebuilds team. You will have the responsibility to lead projects that expand rebuild coverage or offerings that align with OLGA opportunities develop new rebuild products support dealer inquiries coordinate with Product Groups on new products and implement process improvements. The successful candidate will serve as an experienced contributor to projects that are complex in nature working with individuals and teams across global sites and Cat dealers.

What You Will Do:

As a Rebuild Consultant you will manage and consult on rebuild options and program requirements for the Cat Certified Rebuild (CCR) program within the Global Service Department and other rebuild options such as Cat Dealer Rebuilds (CDR) from Cat Financial. Tasks will include:

Determining the guidance for what rebuild options are identified as

required or optional for CCR requirements to ensure the performance and

second life of Cat equipment.

Determining the criteria for what products are eligible for each respective

rebuild program.

Managing and consulting on service options and program requirements

for the CCR CDR or other rebuild programs.

Managing the planning organization implementation of CCR new model

requests and product additions to the Rebuilds program.

Evaluating existing processes and providing lean initiatives.

Providing regular concise & effective communication with a range of

stakeholders peers and dealer personnel.

Leading project(s) that will define what all the different rebuild programs:

scope requirements and collaborating with the respective product group

service engineers and verticals such as CI RI or E/T Marketing & Brand

Focusing on process improvements related to automated authoring and

integration with other repair option development or quoting processes.

Collaborating with Cat Insurance Services and Global Warranty on

establishing coverages for both warranty and Equipment Protection Plans

(EPP).

Being capable of understanding technical issues as they arise (this is

considered both an internal and external rebuild technical expert and is

responsible for maintaining and developing all rebuild requirements and

resolution on technical inquiries).

Fulfilling continuous learning on the Caterpillar product line.

What You Have (Basic Requirements):

Education Requirement: Marketing Engineering or Technical field degree though other qualifications or experience are equally valued (5 years of working experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree)

Technical Consulting: Knowledge of techniques roles and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of big picture thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

What Will Set You Apart (Top Candidates Will Have/Preferred Skills):

Strong mechanical aptitude

Knowledge of Cat machines and engines comprising of systems such as powertrain hydraulic electrical cooling fuel braking steering etc.

Good understanding of machine components such as engine transmission torque converter driveline axle differential final drive etc.

Understands the Caterpillar machine and engine parts product structure.

Good understanding of Reuse & Salvage Guidelines.

Experience leveraging Service Magazine Articles Special Instructions PIPs PSPs

Experience with dealer service data SMCS codes and standard jobs.

Experience gained in service options development using SOC.

Experience with Cat Calculator Web

Experience developing Cat Certified Rebuild required parts lists for quoting.

Experience with reading and interpreting Caterpillar engineering prints.

Experience with SIS RWA EDS NPR HVC
