What you need to know about the department:
This position is located at the department of biostatistics. You will work in a highly qualified team within R&D of Roche Diagnostics. Our department supports the development of new systems assays and digital solutions. Complex data management Design of Experiments the development of algorithms as well as mathematical and statistical modeling are our core topics. The goal is the analysis and optimization of the technical and clinical performance of our diagnostic products.
We are an interdisciplinary team that plays an important part in research and development of Roches diagnostic products. We closely collaborate with the teams in the assay development and system integration departments.
What will be your daily tasks:
You will be involved in the planning and analysis of key experiments in assay and system development where you will use appropriate methods for Design of Experiment and statistics.
You will analyze existing processes and model them mathematically using simulations and optimizations in order to improve them.
You ensure the availability and optimization of the workload and configuration of our R servers
You will translate complex requests from our internal customers into tailor-made solutions. Therefore it is essential to work closely with the responsible project leads.
You will continuously improve your professional expertise especially with respect to products and processes by attending workshops congresses etc. and will share your knowledge within the team.
You will be involved in the supervision of interns and students and will contribute to the selection of topics and creation of working plans.

You hold a masters degree in mathematics statistics computer science or natural science or comparable (e.g. biology physicschemistry) preferable with a doctoral degree.
You are able to use biometrical and statistical methods in practice.
You have experience with methods and tools for data management and data analysis of complex experiments.
You are good at programming and enjoy it very much especially in R and web technologies.
You have very good knowledge of biostatistics and applied mathematics.
You have basic knowledge of biochemistry and medical terminology
Communication skills are one of your strengths as you will be an important interface to our internal customers.
You work in a solution-oriented manner and are decisive.
You enjoy working in a team.
You have proficient language skills both in German and English (in written and spoken form)
In principle the announced position is also suitable for part-time employment.
This position is limited to 2 years.
