Job Summary

Job Summary and Essential Functions: The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. Job duties to include but are not limited to;

Develops evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
Helps to select train and develop necessary personnel.
Provides problem solving support and solutions for shop operations.
Provides process solutions through the use of six sigma techniques as well as lean manufacturing theory.
Maintains computer records of processes bill of materials.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization space requirements workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with product development staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Confers with management engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Supports cost reduction and continuous improvement initiative.

Ability to read write and interpret general business periodocals professional journals technical procedures or government regulations.
Ability to effectively present information to peers and management.
Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations. Knowledge of statistical process control math is required.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
Must have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Internet software MS Office software to include Word Excel Access and PowerPoint.
Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing Kaizen techniques a plus.

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications:

To perform this job successfully an individual must possess the outlined experience level education training minimum years of experience product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.

Bachelors degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university in Manufacturing Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
