Job Summary

The Assistant/Associate Director of Experiences leads a diverse engagement portfolio within Alumni & Family Engagement with primary responsibility for the Four Forward initiative curated alumni travel programming and key volunteer and affinity programs. This position manages the day-to-day operations of Four Forward coordinating programming communications and volunteer engagement that strengthen connections and deepen alumni addition the role provides leadership for select affinity and volunteer initiatives including the 25th Reunion Committee Denison Forever (post-50th class community) and the Trustee Fellows program in collaboration with the Office of the President. A significant focus also includes coordinating elevated alumni travel opportunities with University leadership and principal donors ensuring high-quality relationship-driven experiences.

Working in close partnership with colleagues across Institutional Advancement the Alumni & Family Engagement team and campus partners the Assistant/Associate Director ensures these programs deliver meaningful engagement opportunities that cultivate lasting connections and advance Denisons philanthropic and volunteer leadership pipelines.

Four Forward Program Support

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Four Forward engagement initiative; a programming and volunteer platform for alums interested in connecting around opportunities rooted in the shared experiences of women.

Support the execution of committee and community programming both virtual and in-person designed to build connections and advance Four Forward goals.

Coordinate logistics communications and resources for Four Forward activities ensuring inclusive and meaningful participation opportunities.

Provide programmatic opportunities for alums to connect with other alums in meaningful and candid conversations.

Create personal development and community building opportunities deepening ties with the university to complement the professional and lifelong opportunities created.

Partner with alumni engagement colleagues to ensure Four Forward is integrated with broader engagement strategies and events.

Volunteer & Affinity Engagement

Steward relationships with key alumni volunteers in coordination with major gift officers and other campus partners to ensure thoughtful engagement and continuity of relationships.

Manage the 25th Reunion Committee and programming in alignment with other reunion classes.

Facilitate engagement of Denison Forever the post-50th reunion class community.

Coordinate logistics and operations for the Trustee Fellows program supporting the engagement of university trustees after their service on the board in collaboration with the Office of the President and under the guidance of the Director and AVP.

Assist with planning logistics and communications for other communities and committees as delegated to strengthen alumni leadership pipelines.

Curated Alumni Travel Support

Coordinate logistics and operations for elevated alumni travel experiences with University leadership and principal donors including vendor management contracts and itineraries.

Manage program budgets payment processes and expense tracking to ensure fiscal responsibility.

Support recruitment and communications efforts tailored to these curated experiences.

Serve as liaison with travelers before during and after trips to ensure a seamless and positive participant experience.

Collaborate with faculty staff and external partners to deliver high-impact relationship-driven educational travel opportunities.

Additional Responsibilities

Track engagement metrics and contribute to reporting and assessment to inform program effectiveness.

Manage program budgets and ensure resources are used strategically.

Support all-hands alumni engagement events and divisional priorities as needed.

Represent Alumni & Family Engagement at on-campus and regional programs serving as an ambassador for Denison.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelors degree

Preferred: Masters degree

Relevant experience can be substituted for education.
